[SRILM User List] gtnmin, gtnmax and smoothing methods

Hello,
 
I have a question about related to SRILM implmentation. I found that gtnmin  gtnmax affects some smoothing methods results ( absolute, wb, kn). According to its documentation (http://www.speech.sri.com/projects/srilm/manpages/ngram-discount.7.html) , gtnmin or gtnmax should affect GT  smoothing method only. Can any one explain this strange behavior for me?
