question about lattice-tool

Hi,all
    I hava just studied the functions about lattice-tool,I can not
understand - split-multiwords well,
     (1)What does multiwords mean?
     (2)How to use - split-multiwords ?Is there any need to add another
function -multiword-dictionary ?
