format error in kncounts.gz

Ah -- when saying only -read my.kncounts.gz, I get:

using existing lm-press-kn5.kncounts.gz
using existing gtcounts

-- and it goes straight into ngram-count -lm estimtation.

Will -max-per-file still apply here, so if swapping hits, I can  
decrease and rerun from here again?
